Healing After Infidelity — Rebuilding Trust and Connection with Compassion

Discovering infidelity or betrayal can shake the foundation of even the strongest relationship. Whether the affair was emotional, physical, or online, the pain, confusion, and loss of trust can feel overwhelming. Many people describe feeling as though the ground has shifted beneath them — experiencing intense waves of anger, grief, shame, or numbness. You don’t have to face this alone.

I offer specialized support for both couples and individuals seeking to heal from infidelity. For couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to process the betrayal, understand the deeper attachment injuries that may have contributed to the rupture, and slowly rebuild emotional safety and trust — at a pace that honors where you are right now.

For individuals, I draw on Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). EFIT helps you work through the trauma of betrayal, the attachment wounds it has stirred (including those that may reach back to earlier experiences), and the painful questions about self-worth, trust, and the future of the relationship. Whether you are deciding to stay, preparing to leave, or simply trying to regain solid ground, EFIT provides a structured and compassionate path forward.

In our sessions, we create a safe space to explore questions such as:

• Can trust ever truly be restored?

• How do we move past the triggers, memories, and painful images?

• Is it possible to feel close, secure, and intimate again?

• What does healing look like if we choose to stay — or if we decide to separate?

I also support individuals recovering from narcissistic or emotionally harmful dynamics that may have contributed to the affair or complicated the recovery process.

Whether you are a busy professional, managing demanding shift work, or simply carrying a heavy emotional load, sessions are offered through secure telehealth for clients throughout New Jersey and Illinois.

Healing from infidelity is rarely linear, but with the right support it is possible to move from crisis toward clarity, connection, and renewed hope. Many couples who begin this work feeling broken eventually rediscover a deeper, more intentional bond than they had before. Individuals often leave with a stronger sense of self and greater emotional resilience.

If the pain of infidelity feels too heavy to carry alone, I invite you to take a gentle next step.
